: But, I did have a solution working back in 4.0 / 4.5 days, but it took a lot
: of reverse engineering and labor. Basically, there is no substantial
: reason to prevent you from saying "please arm control-Y for ldev n",
[...snip...]
I gave-up and developed a technique about 12 years ago whereby a batch
process with multiple terminals opened could arm Control-Y on each and then
detect which terminal generated an interrupt and handle accordingly. At one
time I was going to contribute the routines to the CSL but decided against it
because it was fairly OS-version dependent and I never got around to cleaning
up the code to deal with the dependency, especially between MPE-IV and
MPE-V.
I know it wouldn't port to MPE/iX systems due to lots of reasons, but if
you'd like to see it, E-Mail me and I'll try to locate the code listing...
(I think it's in a box of listings of old, handy routines in my attic at
home, along with some MPE-III source code listing in my attic...I'm a packrat
by nature...! Certainly Stan's example is more current!
I'll certainly stand-up along with Stan and support an HP provided solution.
If needed, I can provide several business cases in support of this
enhancement cause we're still doing it today, but minus the interrupt
feature!
