We, here in the Kansas City area, have the distinct privilege of having a Connie or two at the old "downtown airport"...not the MCI - Kansas City International Airport. It is not unusual to see one of these graceful planes fly once a week or so....We also have an air show here every year and you can actually board one and see how wonderful they are inside.

Fred - I think anyone who can pass your test with near 100% is a child of
the 50s - or older. I remember PF Flyers - "with the magic wedge". I always
wore Keds, though.
Denys - you are right - the Connie had to be one of the most beautiful
transports made. Sleek and graceful and if I am not mistaken TWA was the
biggest user. I think Lufthansa had a few, too. If I am not mistaken it was
designed by that aeronautical genius Kelly Johnson - of Lockheed Skunk Works
fame. He also designed the P38, the U2, F104 and the SR-71.
Christian - I remember most of your stuff - I came into the HP world when
the 1600 bpi tape drive was the "new thing" and phasing out the 800...
Bill (52 and getting older - and do I care? ;-) )
