Of course, this change from "inexpensive" to "independent" was just some
marketing guy's invention in order to keep you from thinking that he's
selling you JBOCD ("just a bunch of cheap discs"), but if they're going to be
allowed to get away with that bit of historical revisionism, someone is going
to also have to come up with a new phrase for the abbreviation, SLED, which
is/was the actual physical antithesis of RAID, and what RAID was designed to
compete against.

SLED (still) stands for "single large expensive disc".
