Although you may know of Inkjet printers, I have only used Thermal
label printers (the king that use a roll). I have used Zebra and
Sato. Both work off the HP3000 just fine, however, they are not like
any printer you may have dealt with. For example, the Sato printer
must have its Serial Data sandwiched between start and stop characters
otherwise it doesn't think it got any data at all.

You could replace the 2934 with LaserJet or Deskjet printers fairly
easily. Alas, they too are not 100% compatible. There is a printer
that emulates the Rugged Writer that would also work (just look in the
Interact Mag for the ad). Finally, if it is just a space and print
type program (you know - Cobol), then why not try the latest Epson
"They suck but they're cheap" printers. I have connected some of the
strangest junk to the HP and made it all work.
