There are a lot of variables. What model? An older 980? Which drive?
Are you using private volumes?
Ldev1 for a 960/980 can not exceed 2GB. LDev 1 for newer machines can
be upto 4GB (any space above that is currently unused).
If all the drives are members of the "MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET" plan on
several full backups and a reload...
If the LDEV is a member of a private volume, full backup the system,
then do another backup of just the accounts on that volume set (always
specify the ;DIRECTORY;ONVS= options), then purge the volume set,
change in the new drive and restore from the second backup.
I always perform a full backup and a second backup of the
machine/volumeset in question --- just incase I have a media problem
with one backup set... and it has happened.
On the restore remember to specify ;olddate;keep;create=creator
Restores will take somewhat longer than the actual store. So allow for
the extra time.
