Search engines for Apache Intranet?

I have been building an Apache Intranet on our 959ks200 and was going to
start putting a bunch of documentation in it, however I want to be able
to use a search engine, like yahoo or altavista, in it.  So, the
question is, can you do this with Apache on the 3k?  Should I use IIS on
an NT?  what about Apache on Linux?  And if so, what search engine
software should I look at.
