I believe this is the normal status shown while the battery used for
powerfail recovery is recharging.  When the battery is fully charged,
the status should revert to F0FF...F9FF, or FAFF (indicating 10% CPU load
intervals) alternating with FFFF once a second, often called a heartbeat.
I think the alternating E040 and EF40 is the same heartbeat.  I wouldn't be
surprised to see Ex40 where "x" could be any of [0-9A].
