HPSUSAN is an acronym for System Unique Assigned Serial Number.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn't that make it HPSUASN?

I think HPSUSAN is an acronym for System Unique Serially Assigned
Number. So much for the nits.

As far as HPYEAR is concerned, the name is already taken by
the two digit year. My vote for the four digit year is HPCOMPYEAR.
Not the best, but HPYEAR cannot be used for backward compatibility
reasons. I would accept other abbreviations, but HPYYYY is not
Intuitive OR pronounceable.
