I wouldn't put so much emphasis on words.  Online backup simply means
users can keep working during the backup.  Turbostore online qualifies,
period, under "normal, typical" usage.

Any backup process will have failure modes.  Oracle's hot backup can fail
if there is too much database activity at the time.
