Some barcode readers have the option of configuring whether CRLF
(or just CR, or just LF, or nothing) is generated after each scan.
I worked with INTERMEC scanners years ago that had that option. Also,
the barcode wand for my HP-41CX calculator came with a "paper keyboard"
that had barcodes for all the keyboard functions. You can scan individual
or multiple digits or letters, do calculations, etc. -- essentially,
you can operate the calculator without using the keyboard at all for
most operations. It's a bit tedious, though. :-)
