Your one sentence did, but perhaps it is a typo:
When try to  change the gateway address to 192.169.0.1 then it does not
validate.

The gateway address is presently set to 192.168.216.1 and I wish to change
it to 192.168.0.1.  I do not have anything with an address in the
192.169.x.y network.
