I think John and Andres are correct.  As a US citizen, I very much enjoy the
banter but I know this is an International list.  It is possible to turn off
the digest and put all OT into one folder and wade through it.  One can also
use the link at the bottom to have the listserver remove OT messages from
your digest too.  But removing all OT means you'll miss the great scientific
discussions that pop up.  At the risk of starting another controversy, what
if we added a new prefix called "POLITICS"?  Or even "US" or "USPOLITICS"?
The political threads tend to generate the most lines and it would keep OT
available for non-3000 technical conversations.

Just a humble suggestion.
