I have been familiar with serial/DTC spooled printers for many years.
Yesterday (for the first time) I was asked to setup a Network printer on
an HP3000, as a spooled printer. The system is running MPE/iX 5.5 pp5,
and Jet direct Network printing is supported. Having never done this,
can anyone help me out with some Jet direct Network printing questions,
don't wanna sound to dumb. For Example:
What are the specifics on configuring an LDEV that is to be used for Jet
direct Printing?
Can I use a ( One IP address and four printer's. ) multiport Jet direct
box? If so How do I specify the port in the NPCONFIG file?
What about the HPENV files, which one do I use for PCL, PostScript
ect.... Or can I create my own, if so how?
I'll probably have more questions once I get started on this, but these
should get me going :-)
TIA,
Michael Anderson
