yeah!  i seemed to have successfully connected my 5si printer
to my 3000 (922).  it prints and almost everything :-)  the one
thing i need for it to do is to print using the lineprinter font at
16.67.

     Donna,
 
     One of my users just went through what you want to do the other week.  The
     new LaserJet 5Si does not have an internal menu selection to choose the
     default font like the 4Si and previous models.  You should have gotten some
     software with your printer.  By loading and running the Windows-based
     software, you can talk to the 5Si through its parallel port.  You simply
     choose the default font to be the pitch you want and save the new defaults.
