Subject: How can I intruct your TAPEDIR program to handle continuation reels?

Hi Stan:

I wanted to copy the directory of a SYSDUMP tape extending to 4 reels
with
your TAPEDIR program found on the DENVER SWAP tape.

I mounted reel#2 on the unit 7
The program arrived to the end of reel #2 on the casette unit and send a
message to the operator's console asking for the next reel. I loaded the
third reel, issued a "reply ...,7,Y", then I expected the message for
fourth reel. That did not arrive, but the program ended after some
thinking.

Then I thought that the renamed NEWDISK list contains the list of reels #1
and
#2, and restarted the TAPEDIR program with reel #4.
and restarted the program with reel.

Inspecting the two lists with BROWSE2, I found that your program asked
only for reel #3 but did not read it.

As you can see from the above listing, the contents of reel #3, the list
of files in the group beginning with Q, R and S are missing.

Where have they disappeared?

Why has not your program asked for reel #4 during the first run?

Can I use a file equation? instead of the newdisk program info word?

I used the
"T 132 newdisk verify nocompare"
info string in the RUN statement.

One more question: If a program like your produces 80 lines per page,
which is the safest way to set the printer _temporarily_ and
_automatically_ to 8 lines per inch for only its printing?
(I think that I shoud copy an escape sequence to the beginning of the file
then the resetting to 6 lines per inch at the end of it.)

				TIA
