a definitive answer, Paul, thanks very much!
and you're surely right that single-threading the compilations will work
around this, but running 10 at a time is quite a bit (unmeasured) faster
than single-threading so I don't want to hear that one <hearing aid gain on
0>.
Now if I can come up with a way to look in the other jobs' temp domains,
not! hmmm.
