I was a backup operator and found that command and started using it. Then
the problem occurred. One of the sessions did not log off. Now this was some
years ago and the situation may be different now, but as I remember it. The
cntrl =LOGOFF command suspends all other cntrl commands until all processes
are logged off, thus my problem. I could not log on and start backup, I
could not restart the machine, normally. And finally I had to call the
manager, (late at night) he filled my in on why not to use said command and
I have not used it ever since. (1983)
