You heard me correctly -- the H.08.05 firmware for the J3263A JetDirect 300X
is supposed to allow printing via ftp.

You ftp to the JetDirect, then "put" your print file to the PORT1 directory.

However, I cannot get this to work at all using ftp clients on MPE, Win98,
and Linux. I can connect to the JetDirect ftp server OK, I can see the
PORT1 directory, I can put files to PORT1, but nothing ever prints.

Has anybody else heard of this or gotten it to work?

This may be an interesting workaround instead of struggling to deal with
some of the "features" in the current implementation of MPE network
spooling.
