I found this with google: color pcl

Which looks very complex to me.
In the past on my DeskJet 550c I found that the escape seq.
    Esc*v#S
worked for even numbers, 0 to 14, if I remember correctly.

Something to play with.

Also you can select a color LJ or DJ printer in windows, and
print to a file. Then decode the PCL.
