have you looked at the ODBCLink/SE manual which is available on the web at :
http://jazz.external.hp.com/papers/odbc/index.html

How much do you know about the data you are attempting to access? It sounds
like you weere looking for a view that wasn't there - are you familar with the
the acess that was "granted" by the DBA??

It is not knowing the database you are trying to access that causes grief for
most ODBC users ...
