Hi all,
Based on the suggestions from a few of you I have made some
improvements to the ABORTJOB script (and UDC) on Jazz.
You can:
- abort a single job or session (big deal)
- abort all jobs/sessions matching a user ID ([jobname,]user.acct)
- abort only jobs matching a user ID (sessions are skipped)
- abort only sessions matching a user ID (jobs are skipped)
- abort all job/sessions matching a list of job IDs (#J|Snnn)
- abort all job/sessions matching a list of user IDs
- abort all job/session matching a list of both user and job IDs
- abort all jobs (as specified above) except for job/sessions in an
exclusion list (like 'minus' store filesets)
- abort only EXEC (and EXEC*) jobs/sessions
- abort only WAIT jobs
- abort only SCHED jobs
- abort only SUSP jobs (or a combination of above)
- abort only jobs in a certain job queue.
Note: your own job ID is always skipped.
Note: jobnames, user names, acct names, job queue names can be wildcarded.
Note: there are some attempts to prevent ghosts sessions and to retry the
abort.
So, if this sounds useful and you are on MPE/iX Release 6.0 PP1 (or
have installed patch MPEKXM0) please download a beta version from Jazz at:
1) http://jazz.external.hp.com/src/scripts/ABORTJ_UDC_beta.txt or
2) http://jazz.external.hp.com/src/scripts/ABORTJ_beta.txt
1) is the UDC version so the command is named ABORTJOB.
2) is the script version and the command is named ABORTJ.
If all goes well I will update the version on the linked freeware
page on Jazz soon.
Thanks in advance for all beta assistance,
Jeff Vance, CSY
