HPe3000 in the news!

In the latest Information Week (September 15), Virginia International
Terminals (VIT) is highlighted in the "Infrastructure" page. Clark
Farabaugh is quoted in the article (as he has been all over the HP landscape
regarding migration). The title of "Shipping Out a Legacy System" is very
appropriate considering the nature of their business - shipping. The
article plugs the reliability of their homegrown applications on the
HPe3000. And that they have been!

STR Software is proud to be a part of their migration plan. VIT has
successfully used our AventX MPE on the HPe3000 (formerly known as FAX/3000)
since 1992 to fax several dozen types of documents with tremendous
reliability, management, and control.

In late 2002, they purchased our AventX UNIX for a replacement HP9000
(formerly known as FaxCommander). Although entirely rewritten from scratch,
our UNIX product looks, feels, and functions identically as that of the MPE
product. This has eliminated any retraining of the staff, including
programmers, administrators, and users.

I wish I had known about migration and porting tools ten years ago. They
would have made the transition of our HPe3000 products to LINUX, UNIX, and
Windows much easier and faster!

Sincerely,

Ben Bruno
President
