hi all!

well, this poor little system is still having problems....

i've got some more information.  both tape drives are
1504b's (dds-1).  the behavior with 90m tapes is the same
with both 'old' and new tapes.  the curious thing is...both
tape drives used to 'like' 90m tapes.  that is, the full
backup job would write (using regular ol' store) to a 90m
tape -- using either drive -- and be perfectly happy.  now,
if 90m tapes are used, the backup job essentially never
finishes.  it just keeps asking for one tape after another.
'tis a mystery.  any (more) thoughts?        - d
