Hi,

Just bought a new external USR Sportster 14,400 Data/FAX modem and have been
having numerous problems.
1 - First one said it was a Sportster 9600 and did not even work.
2 - The replacement (from the store) says the right things but it would not
    send a 'break' signal.
3 - The latest replacement also says the right things but it also will not
    send a 'break'.

Both of the latest units say they have 24 MHz clocks, EPROM date of 5/18/95
and revision 1.5.

Two items if you please:
1 - How does one get service from USR?? I have tried E-Mails, phone and FAX.
The E-Mail triggered an automatic FAX on denamd list of stuff. I then
resent the msg to tech support, but no response. Phone just runs me
thru a menu and then eventually drops me back to a dial tone. FAX earned
    nothing.
2 - Has anyone else heard of the 'break' problem? We have older same type
modems which work just fine, even the one being used as a dial-in modem.

Anyone know of something else that I may be doing wrong? or is this modem
also broken? I am running WRQ DOS Reflection R1 release 5.0

Thanks, Phil.
