Several HP printers have a configuration setting called "Robust XON/XOFF".
This provides positive verification that the printer is online by sending an
XON every second or so. If my memory is correct, termtype 22 expects that
stream of XONs. The absence of them means the printer isn't available. If
your printers don't have the robust XON option, use termtype 18.

Some more info:
Each printer is connected to a separate DTC (different
buildings). The connectors on both DTC's are ATP and
the printer types are configured as 22.

One printer is within 20 feet of the DTC and the other
is about 50 feet away from its DTC.

RFI???
