Given a choice between learning Transact, or leaving the 3000, I think I
would learn Transact.

The only language I have used professionally in the 90's is COBOL, and my
first shop out of school was COBOL and NetWare (no anti-PC bias here).
Personally, I would still give Transact a chance before abandoning the 3000.


And you love Transact. While defining 'life' is problematic, by what
criteria does this guy call Transact dead? Can he actually read your source
code? If not, sounds like another 'consultant' trying to drum up business
for himself. Tell someone that they need to contract with better
consultants.
