This would be somewhat unfortunate if true. Especially for California CC's
who have bet on Oracle for the HP3k.

However, if true, I think this says more about the vendor, than the platform.

What were their comments about HP platform longevity when you bought into
Oracle on the HP3k?

And don't think unix solves your problem with regard to these issues. They
have implementations for specific unix boxes and support specific versions
of the unix implementation on specific h/w platforms. You get hosed the
same if they decide not to continue supporting a specific unix implementation
on a specific version of the unix o/s (for that platform).
