While this series of commands [listing via eof, then altfile'ing back to
dev=disc] may work in some cases, I personally don't think it is an
"appropriate" use of MPEX.  There are some "flaws" in the method presented:

  -- first, since it was postulated that "the largest files should be moved
first" one should "sort by the EOF".  However, this will virtually GUARANTEE
that "bytestream" files, which may be many times smaller than, say, a
database, will "sort first" since their EOF is measured in terms of 1-byte
record lengths...
     [try sorting by sectors already consumed, but even this will be
innaccurate]

  -- altfileing a file from dev=disc to dev=disc may not move a file if
indeed it is already ";xltrim"ed.  Also, some folks may have created other
classes than "disc" to ensure a file resides on a certain cluster of disks
(or avoids ldev-1)  Admittedly, the command file can (and should) be
customized per site, but it only takes running it "wrong" once to really
screw up a system...
