I know that our IT admins install RUMBA for HP only with difficulty, and
that the last version I saw was part of their 32-bit product, but was
itself 16 bit. A subsequent edition of RUMBA does not seem to include an
emulator, and I never heard back from our IT admins about this. All of
this may say more about our IT admins than about RUMBA, but I know of no
one here who claims to like the product, and have encouraged
investigation into a competitive upgrade to a Reflection suite. Our
project has Reflection for HP, and I would probably use QCTerm before
using RUMBA. After looking into some of the available choices, I was
asked to meet with our Wall Data reps to review what I thought were the
deficiencies of RUMBA, among them the lack of support for file codes on
the 3000. They had no solution for this or for other problems; it was
only later that I learned that command line ftp with buildparms could
have met this need.
