After removing SM from account, user capability I found I got

USER LACKS CREATE DIRECTORY ENTRIES (CD) ACCESS TO PARENT DIRECTORY

when attempting to copy file.group.account to file.group.account2

I've checked out the access rights via LISTUSER etc for 'to account2,group'
and all set to ANY. I've not really had to worry about this before but
as ever I do now.

I've looked into ACD's and I think I understand the ability to give CD
capability via REPPAIR to a HFS directory as I got a copy to work. But as
the help notes say I cannot change a root directory.

Its been a long day - is it simply just because without SM I cannot copy
accoss accounts or is there another obvious reason and I cannot see it.
