Could you kindly say what you mean, specifically,
by "chaining"?

PCMASTER sounds like the name of a master dataset
(usually, you use DBGET with "chained" access on
detail datasets).

This error could mean some kind of hardware problem.
It would be nice, of course, to know WHICH FileSys
intrinsic could not access the dataset (and which
IMAGE intrinsic was involved).  In addition, it
would be nice to know WHERE in your code the error
happened and what your code was trying to do at the
time.
