I would recommend taking some time to look over the site before getting too
incensed. Please allow me a few comments:

  1) SearchHP.com does not claim, so far as I can tell, to be a news source,
as the NewsWire so excellently is. Rather, they claim to be, "The
Independent HP Market-Specific Search Engine, brought to you by
     techtarget.com".
  2) As of this morning, at least, they appear very specific about their
sources. For example, under News on HP, we find:
HP firing case pits one set of beliefs against another (The Idaho
       Statesman)
Clicking on that takes one to a page which reads:

Article Title: HP firing case pits one set of beliefs against another
        Source: The Idaho Statesman
        URL: http://cnnfntech.yellowbrix.com/pages/cnnfntech/Sto...
        Date: 06 Oct 2000

        Editor's Summary:
In a move that's expected to capture national attention,
Hewlett-Packard Co. has fired a veteran employee for posting Bible
verses - including a condemnation of homosexuality - at his
workstation. The employee has sued for $1 million, alleging HP violated
the federal Civil Rights Act. Trial is set for June 2001

That looks like a pretty clear attribution to me. Clicking on the link
takes one to the page--no use of frames or anything else to make it look
as if it is their work. I was unable to find Ron's article, probably
because it was posted quite some time ago, but it seems to me that so far
they haven't broken copyright, so long as they treated his as they treated
     these.

Please note that the orignal source is *not* cnnfntech.com. But what
CNNfn is doing is a bit different (or a different bit or something...:-).
They have republished, with permission, I'm sure, what "The Idaho
Statesman" said, whereas SearchHP.com has simply pointed to that article,
much as one would say, "I found a really cool book on Sendmail by
O'Reilly, you should get a copy and read it."
  3) Ron seemed concerned about them writing a different headline and summary
than he did or would, but as Wirt points out, that's unobjectionable in
the Academic community, at least (I've never worked in Journalism, so I
     can't speak from that perspective).

Offhand, it seems that 1) they've mended their ways, 2) I'm really missing
something (likely :-), or 3) The primary thing objectionable about them is
their attitude when answering Ron--a little tact and courtesy can go a long
way.
