In a recent HP MPE/iX Performance and tuning class, my instructor gave
me the following as memory configuration guidelines.

MPE/iX Requirement 32 MB, I believe at least 50 MB is recommended for
5.5.

User Memory Requirement - 1.5 MB x number of users.

                plus

Oracle RDBMS 1.5 MB x number of users.

                plus

Application Requirements
e.g. Oracle RDMS "Shared Global Area" = 20 MB

                plus

Critical Batch Processes 8MB x number of Jobs.

Add these figures up and this will give you the memory requirements. My
instructor also suggested to round your calculations up and purchase the
biggest chunks available, this will allow for future growth.
