I've got it for you, the reference to function 20 is your software flow control.

The correct p/n for the RS-232/422 Interface Manual is 26067-90921.

The functions you need to set are 20 through 29 of the CONFIGURATION mode which
is accessed by:

1. Press and hold down the CONFIG key. At the same time press either of the
FINE ADJ keys to move to the desired function code (20 - 29). Two decimal
points indicate you are in CONFIGURATION mode.

2. Release the CONFIG key.

3. Use the FINE ADJ keys to move to the desired parameter number.

4. Press ENTER. (This locks it in and returns you to the STATUS mode.)

5. Set the next parameter. Repeats steps 1 - 4 until all functions code 20 -29
are set.

Below are the function numbers and their values for the printer
                  configuration:

FUNCTION NUMBER PARAMETER VALUE MEANING
           20 01 XON/XOFF Enabled
21 00 No hardware handshake used
           22 51 9600 baud. CB signal no
           23 00 parity disabled. Transmit
                                                8TH bit as data.

If you are unable to run the printer at 9600 baud, set function number
22 to the appropriate parameter:

BAUD PARAMETER VALUE
300 01
600 11
1200 21
2400 31
4800 41
9600 51
19200 61

I am assuming this particular printer has the serial interface. All my
manuals are packed away in prep for a move, but when I get unpacked on
Tuesday I'll look that up for you.
