HP Database RT question

Severe performance problems when using dynamic SQL with Allbase on =
HP3000.=20

When using dynamic SQL with Allbase on HP3000, the system's response =
time are unacceptable towards the user. Allbase takes -compared to other =
database vendors- a big overhead up front at the preprocessing/preparing =
stage. In a more and more "client/server"ed world, this problem might be =
killing for the HP3000-Image-Allbase environment. Besides the time =
Allbase uses to handle records, grows exponentially with the number of =
colums in case dynamic SQL is used. When -in order to overcome the =
problem- one switches to embedded SQL, the problem of performance shifts =
to the compile time which generates a high system load, making quick bug =
fixing for live applications nearly impossible.=20
