: Hi,
: If you are looking for networkprinting merged with your MPE/iX OS,
: Then, yes, HP is providing the network printing feature in its new
: release
: of MPE called 5.5. You need not go for the 3rd party product, but can
: simply
: upgrade your system to MPE 5.5 . which will enable you to print to any
: printer
: connected on the internet with an valid IP address and having Jetdirect
: Interface
: to it.

Welcome to 3000-l Sridhar (who is one of the "Us" in my .sig).
Two out of three isn't bad, but the third one could bite you this time:
o TCP/IP connection, check
o JetDirect interface, check
o The printer must speak PCL. The LaserJets will, but I'm not sure about
the Xerox printer.
The rest is correct. Rashid will need a third-party product to do network
printing on Release 5.0. The HP network printing spooler is available
starting on Release 5.5, and will not be back-ported.
