On-topic replies are always welcome to the list. The list does however
generate a default 'Reply-to:' pointing to the author. The idea was to
avoid what was intended as a private reply going public, and to make the
reply go to the whole list takes a conscious effort by the user so that
a public reply is done with that knowledge in mind. It also reduces the
'me too!', 'is so!', 'is not!' little quips we don't really need on the
whole list :-)
