The main problem here is that most plain old vanilla Cobol programmers are
totally brain damaged when it comes to packing/unpacking real
numbers........

Sounds cold, but any company out there still using archaic Fortran
applications get everything they deserve.........

Better go study the old MPEiX/Intrinsics manual, you guys......
