I downloaded GNUCVS off of jazz. I created a FREEWARE account since it has
been purged since I last installed GNUCORE. I went into the shell, created
the GNUCORE group, and did tar -xopvf gnucvs.tar. So far so good. I then
returned to MPE/ix and did INSTALL.GNUCORE. This failed because it tries to
run INSTALL.PUB.FREEWARE which wasn't in the tar file. So I download
GNUCORE. Create a new group GNUCORE and type tar -xopvf gnucore.tar. I get
the following from tar:
tar: blocksize = 20
tar: directory "./PUB": File exists
tar: cannot create file "./PUB/.sh_history": System call error
x ./PUB/BZIP2, 215552 bytes, 421 tape blocks
x ./PUB/GZIP, 254464 bytes, 497 tape blocks
30 blocks
If you want to go on, type device/file name when ready
I've never gotten this message from tar. Anybody know what this means?
