I don't know if this would affect it, but you might check your PC's BIOS
settings for the mode that the parallel port runs in (EPP, ECP, Compatible,
etc., etc.) and try a different mode.  I believe the HP R80 all-in-one
device wants you to have the port set for EPP (IIRC).
