                      RE: Cross-platform development
In the August issue of Software magazine there's an overview article
("Same Face, Different Place") on just this issue. It includes a chart
with 35 vendors and 37 (!) products.

As a very experienced Macintosh developer reminded me when I asked for his
thoughts on the question, making a wise decision in this area requires
considerable research as well as a detailed understanding of your goals.
Certainly many of the people on this list have experiences with these
products that they might be willing to share. And, of course, there have
been relevant articles in the HP literature.

In any case, after determining where you're trying to get to, I'd suggest
a couple (i.e., more than one) of small (pilot?) projects to get a feel
for the products. Don't forget the title of one of the chapters in "The
Mythical Man-Month" by Fred Brooks: "Plan to throw one away."
