Hi,

we converted to version 7.29.C8 and the following are what we did:

1- Use qshow to convert QDD to PDL.
2- Change PDL dictionary to "include century and default century 20".
3- check you code for "addcentury" and other date related functions
   (you need to remove addcentury).

4- test for some special days (e.g :feb 28 , 29 and march 30 year 2000)

I hope this helps

Michael

So we finally ran into a year 2000 problem in Quiz, dealing with the date
02/29/00.
So I dutifully called Cognos and have the version 729C8 sitting on my desk.
Seems
it uses the hardware clock instead of an HP intrinsic.

So I went to the 3000-l archives (thanks Jeff) and dug up the stuff from the
thread
a few months ago dealing with "TZ" and such. My problem is I can't find
anything
dealing with QDD and PDL requirements.

Although it says nothing about it in the Cognos documentation with the 279C8
release, it's stuck in my mind that someone posted that this version was not
fully compatible with Y2K unless running with a PDL dictionary. Is this
correct
or have I overfed on the Jimpson weed again? Ummmm.....current version
is 729c, and I would call Cognos but we're in an argument about maintenance
contracts (We sent check, you cashed it, where's my maint?) so I turn to the
list.

Wonder if the Milkweed is as good as the Jimpson weed?
