Often this is not neccessary, instead you can

NETCONTROL NET=[LAN_NAME];UPDATE=INTERNET

and nobody has to be logged off the network etc...

I've experienced a bit of a funny in this area, in
NETXPORT.NI.LAN1.INTERNET.ROUTER if you specify '@' as the IP Network
address, any IP address should be routed through the router being defined
(this is my understanding instilled in me from the response centre).
However, i have noticed that i need to specifically name certain networks
(by suppling a set of IP addresses in the IP Network address fields) to get
the calls routed correctly. This mainfests itself as LAN devices being
un-contactable. I know you can no longer mix named IP addresses and the '@'
default under MPE/iX 5.5) - has anybody else noticed this or can anyone
give a definate on how this area works ???

Many thanks,

Mark.

Hi John,
You can manage gateways using NMMGR.
F1 (open config)
F2 (NS) - F2 (Unguided) - F1 (Nextxport) -F3 (Go to NI)
F6 (Modify NI) - F3 (Go to Internet)
This should get you to the gateways. Enter the name of the gateway and
press F6 (modify). At this point you can add/delete/modify your addresses.
After you finish, press F6 (Save data) and get back to the screen where you
see F5 (Utility) by pressing F8 as many times as necessary.
Press F5 (Utility).
F3 (Go to Validate)
F1 (Validate Netxport)
Exit NMMGR and restart the network.

These instructions originally came from Joe Geiser and have served me well,
many times.

Hello all,

Could someone please help me with Gateways and Routes on our HP3000. I am
the network administrator, and we need to accomplish two things. First
remove some old (BAD) routes.
Second and a new route. I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Thanks in advance,
