Well, that just goes to show what a failing memory will do for you. I am
mightily embarassed by this gaffe. And it's even more extraordinary that I
would have forgotten that because I was extolling the virtues of Woodrow
Wilson to another listmember just a few days ago when I wrote: "Actually, I
would have described [Wilson] as a visionary. The League of Nations was his
idea after all, as was the Ship of Peace, and he was mightily opposed to
making Germany pay reparations after WWI."

Wilson was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his creation of the League of
Nations. Although the world wasn't ready for it, the League of Nations set
the stage for the United Nations.
