Use VSTORE. It is documented in the CI's HELP, and in the
STORE/RESTORE manual.

We have been backing up our HP3000 995/200 using DDS-2 tapes. It
seems that
there is no way of verifying that the backup is "good".

Talking to the response center, we were told that there was no way of
verifying that the DAT tapes were good, that the drives are functioning
correctly, or that a backup is good.

What are others doing to verify that a DAT tape backup is good and
usable if
needed for restore?

Thanks.
