Actually, this isn't as hard as it might seem at first.  If you want to
custom fit with the "hard" foam stuff, here's how to do it.  First, start
with a hard case :)  A soft brief case won't work well :)  Second, using
cardboard, build boxes the size of your computer and what ever else you want
to carry.  Third, go to Lowe's, Home Depot or just about any
hardware/plumbing store and purchase the spray foam filler (if you haven't
used it, it's great - also make sure you read the directions because once
you use the can you either empty it or throw it away).  Last, place the card
board boxes in the case as you wish and then spray the foam.  It will create
a semi-solid (not too solid that you'll damage your laptop), custom fit
case.

BTW, I rate the spray foam right behind duct tape, super glue and baling
wire as far as usability.  With these four items, these not much you can fix
:)
