We have started having 2 different disk errors on one of our disk
drives. Luckily this machine is no longer a production machine because a
full install takes over 16 hours. One of the errors only occurs during the
standalone full backup, so I can presume that this is in an area of the
database that is no longer used. The other disk error has only occurred
twice, once during a daily incremental backup.

As this is no longer a production machine so I do not want to spend the 16
hours on an install, but it is required to be in existence until next
year. Is it possible to store just the faulty disk, replace it and
restore? All the disks are members of the system volume set. I have not
been able to find anything on the archives for this type of store and restore.
thanks ... Terry
