This I like!
I use a lot of, I/O redirect to a command file and parse, type of scripts. I
would hate an old script to fail due to a format change. This recommendation
provides form and function.
Also, maybe an alternative SHOWJOB #J123;FORMAT=LONG type of command to
provide additional information. This would follow with the LISTGROUP type of
syntax.

There have been some clever replies so far. My idea is:
:calc JINFO("#J6239", "fmtintrodate")
which will return something like this:
THU, NOV 18, 1999
