If you're on 5.0 PUSH, and are attempting to replace a disc drive
mech, read on.

We had one 7937 disc give us servo errors, and we decided that
it must be replaced. We planned on copying the data on that disc
to tape, replace the disc mech, and retore data from tape, using the DTDUTIL..

To run the DTDUTIL program, we brought the system on a SINGLE USER,
SINGLE DISC mode. Before and after we brought the system up, problems started to
show up.

1) During the sytem boot up, we got a system halt 7. The file PERFLOG.MPEXL.SYS
had a bad file label. I renamed the file, and the system rebooted OK.
MPE created a new PERFLOG during bootup.

2) The HP engineer's password to the SUPLICEN program did not work in the SINGLE
   USER, SINGLE DISC mode.
Even when another temporary password was given, the DTDUTIL program could not
be found. It was not in ldev 1!

I know now that these files must reside in ldev1: SUPLICEN, SUPLACT, SLICDATA.
There are more, but I do not know what else, at this point.

It's interesting, for we did not move those files out of ldev1. They have been
there since we updated to 5.0 several weeks ago.

I am convinced those are 'bugs" in MPE/ix 5.0
