Furthermore, it is "standard form" nowadays for virus (*) to not only pick your name from any likely names it finds lying around on the HD, but to ALSO pick a name "at random" to use as the "from" address, so it is ENTIRELY possible that the combination of "to: <you>" and "from: hp3000-l..." could occur. If you've "whitelisted" this message board based SOLELY on the "from" value, you could be at risk [very tiny risk, but still non-zero ;) ]

(*) you probably thought I should have written "...for viruses to...", but I recall reading somewhere that "virus" has kind of "backed into" being a latin word and doesn't really have a plural form -- i.e., "virii" it ain't :) -- a google search of "virus plural debate" can be a fun waste of the rest of the afternoon ...
